Mystery lights spotted in sky near Lacock

http://www.gazetteandherald.co.uk/news/8467183.Mystery_lights_spotted_in_sky_near_Lacock/

FINALLY! Another Mysterious Lights story out of the UK. I've been disappointed with the lack of 'em recently.

This happened during the day, which is curious. AND it happened on 10/10/10.

There's a picture of the mystery orbs on the site.

Mysterious baby. Mysterious.

Are Mossad agents selling paintings in Utah?

http://www.jpost.com/International/Article.aspx?id=189989

So some guys posing as "Israeli Art Students" are going door to door, selling painting and asking questions about a NSA Data Center nearby. That doesn't sound suspicious. Oh Utah. Even when it's not your fault, it's your fault.

Mysterious mobile handset explosions grip Assam

http://www.domain-b.com/industry/telecom/20100928_mobile_handset.html

This can't be fucking real. This has to be a viral site for a movie or something.
Fucking 30 mobile handsets explode after the callers answer a phone call where the number is highlighted in red? WTF.

" Mobile handsets exploding is not a new phenomenon, but about 30 different mobile phones suddenly exploding within a week when users answer a call is rare, and requires a scientific explanation. "

Mysterious jellyfish invade Walden Pond

http://news.bostonherald.com/news/regional/view/20100910mysterious_jellyfish_invade_walden_pond/

That's pretty self explanatory right? Scientists are just plum flummoxed about the sheer number of jellyfish suddenly in Walden pond.

Women, Children Victims Of Mysterious Liquid Attacks

http://www.kirotv.com/news/24914914/detail.html

This is either the work of some "Fringe" villain or some asshole prankster. So that makes it either fascinating or annoying.

A number of cases from Washington state of slimy liquid being thrown in people's faces. A woman being hit with a balloon with something in it. Clear liquid with brown chunks in it one case. Blue slimy liquid that could've been porta potty soap. Disgusting and interesting or disgusting and disgusting. Either way. It's darn mysterious.

Rare sighting in Laos of mysterious beast

http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5gCUBgKSTaQRTzyrVSbNBDlKJH1Ag

The Saola is one of the world's rarest animals and some villagers in Hanoi captured one in August, but it died shortly after. Let's hear it for humanity. I guess the up side is that it's the most preserved specimen they've ever had to study. Which is good. That's human history right? Killing and studying? Hooray? Idk. Follow the link for a picture of the a-mazing creature.

Mysterious form of epilepsy triggered by Hannah Montana

http://bodyodd.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2010/09/15/5112026-mysterious-form-of-epilepsy-triggered-by-hannah-montana

This item has one of the most tasteless openings I've ever read in a "major" news piece.

"Teen sensation Hannah Montana makes a Florida girl shake all over. The problem: She can't make it stop."

Is that not just sick? Especially since it's about 12 year old girl. reading the article you can tell that they really played up the Hannah Montana aspect, saying that it's actually one Hannah Montana song in particular that sets her off and in actuality her trigger is low baritone sounds like dog barks. Still though. Ha? Idk. Maybe I shouldn't have included this one. WHATS UP ENGLAND?! I HAVENT FOUND A MYSTERIOUS LIGHTS IN THE SKY NEWS ITEM IN LIKE, FOREVER!

The Mysterious Past Of a Royal Head

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704129204575505833596904888.html

Once in a while it's nice to get a mysterious news item that isn't awful or horrible. This is an interesting article about copper busts from the 14th and 15th century found in Nigeria in 1938. They've uncovered some new clues and ideas about their origin and I believe the heads are going on tour.

Dolphins getting mysterious skin rashes

http://www.torontosun.com/news/world/2010/09/17/15387111.html

Sad news is sad.

"About 90% of bottlenose dolphins in Monterey Bay, California, are suffering from mysterious skin lesions, a new study says. "

Deer spotted with mysterious collar

http://www.swvatoday.com/news/article/deer_spotted_with_mysterious_collar/8255/

The mysterious collar is a collar that glows in the dark. Work of aliens or ravers?

" “I know it’s dangerous to put anything around a deer’s neck,” East added. “A rope or collar can get caught by brush or a tree. This collar was definitely put on the deer by someone. There’s no way it could have gotten on accidentally.” "

Mystery odor cancels classes at Rockland County school

http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=news/local&id=7694375

Again with the mystery odor. Man. There's another fairly common news story I had no idea about until I started this blog. Paging Sam and Dean.

"Last week, the school was evacuated and the ventilation system tested and cleaned&but the complaints persisted. "Did you smell it? Outside of the school&just a little bit," said Brown. Parent Debra Termine added that the odor left a "metallic taste, neck, back a glaze over the body." "

Mystery airstrike as Somalia collapses

http://www.upi.com/Top_News/Special/2010/09/28/UPI-81181285695250/

" A mysterious helicopter attack on a gathering of Islamist leaders suggests that the United States, using either Special Forces or mercenaries, may be trying to decapitate jihadist forces who are escalating a war to topple the Western-backed government."

As long as my money doesn't go to give people health care, I'm happy. AMIRITE?

Mysterious cattle mutilations continue in Georgia

http://www.mysouthwestga.com/news/story.aspx?id=520412

YES! THIS IS ONE OF THOSE STORIES THAT MYSTERIOUS NEWS JUST LOVES. CLASSIC. TOTAL. CLASSIC.

Detectives say they have little to go on because the killer leaves almost no trace of even being there, in most cases, not even a drop of blood from the butchered animals.

It sounds like Jack the bloody ripper is alive and well and mutilating cows. The udders and genitals were removed post mortem. Yum.

Investigation continues into mysterious death of attorney

http://www.dailytribune.com/articles/2010/09/30/news/doc4ca54f1371922901667894.txt

This is pretty complicated, but it sounds like a wife was performing surgery on her husband. Her husband who weighed 413 pounds and had diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cirrhosis and other ailments.

“There was blood everywhere, tissue on the floor and in the freezer, a scalpel was found,”

"Police found a large pool of blood in Lloyd Johnson’s bed, as well as surgical gear and jars of suspected human tissue in the couple’s home."

So. That sounds fun.

Mass grave reveals gruesome 17th-century mystery

http://www.thenews.pl/national/artykul140198_mass-grave-reveals-gruesome-17th-century-mystery.html

"After the siege, Swedes killed several hundred defenders and dug a secret grave for them in the castle’s yard. “It’s a mysterious case. Even shortly after the Swedish Deluge people had no idea about the grave because a castle kitchen was located next to it,” say archeologists."

Finding lots of bodies next to a castle in Poland. The gruesome tragedy of yesterday is the captivating mystery of tomorrow.

In Pictures: Mysterious Sunfish visits the Isle of Man

http://news.bbc.co.uk/local/isleofman/hi/people_and_places/nature/newsid_8868000/8868625.stm

Every once in a while we need to have a not terrifying brutal story here on Mysterious News. Where the story isn't mysterious killing this or mysterious epidemic that.

Like here! A Sunfish usually sticks to 600 meters below the surface, but here's one right at the surface in the Isle of Man. Of course the dark side to this happy story would be that it came to the surface to lunch on the abundance of jelly fish, of which we are no having a problem with, having too many jelly fish cause of some eco something. Idk. Might be important. Seriously though, ice cream sandwiches, how good are they?

Chupacabras? Mysterious Animals Spotted in Texas

http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/chupacabras-mysterious-animals-spotted-texas/story?id=11165688

AHHH! REAL MONSTERS!

The only thing scarier than Texas is Mexican goat suckers in Texas.

"The claws, toenails, nothing like I've seen on a coyote. Skinny, pointed tail; sure looks like a possum to me," he said. "Never seen any kind of animal that doesn't have hair on it."

Awesome. Totally awesome.

Mystery deepens as more lights appear over Trowbridge and Melksham

http://www.wiltshiretimes.co.uk/news/8303600.Mystery_deepens_as_more_lights_appear_over_Trowbridge_and_Melksham/

GODDAMN IT ENGLAND! No sooner do I mention that all of your mysterious articles have to do with strange lights in the sky then, I find a new article about MYSTERIOUS LIGHTS IN THE SKY! WTF IS GOING ON IN ENGLAND? BESIDES LOTS OF MYSTERIOUS THINGS!?

Five bright large orange balls of light in the sky. They came across the roofs and then they were gone.

This is definitely not the first report of orange lights in the sky in England recently.

Travelling from west to east. Mysterious baby.

Mystery Creature Found in Delaware Waters Still Unidentified

http://www.wboc.com/Global/story.asp?S=12894380

Eventually I'm going to start tagging these stories, "AHH! REAL MONSTERS!" and then I'm going to get sued by Nickelodeon.

Another mysterious creature found! This time in that most mysterious of all lands, Delaware!

"The top right here kind of looks like a horseshoe crab but those tentacles, I don't know what that is," said one visitor to Bethany Beach who examined the photo

Awesome right? Like a crab mixed with a squid. LOVECRAFTIAN HORROR FROM BEYOND?! Or merely the result of some horny interspecies bopping? NO ONE KNOWS! MYSTERIOUS BABY!

'Mysterious incident' on board oil tanker under investigation

http://edition.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/meast/07/29/uae.tanker.explosion/#fbid=QB444mIO_AP

Wow. An explosion on an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz, could it be anything but mysterious?
Differing stories about what may have caused it. Maybe it was an earthquake that caused it.
"suffered hull damage caused by an explosion which seemed to be an attack from external forces," says the ship's owner.
One things for sure, nothing is for sure. Weird details and strange business.

Mystery over death of Hislop College student

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/nagpur/Mystery-over-death-of-Hislop-College-student/articleshow/6242647.cms

It seems like here on mysterious news, when it's England, it's weird lights in the sky. When it's India, it's mystery death.

Here a teenager found in a pool of blood, injury to the back of head, found somewhere where they didn't expect him to be? Like a telegraph post residential office? I don't know what that is?

Apparently he fell or jumped? Had all his stuff with him. Maybe he was pushed?

The usual, happy kid, not an addict, kept to himself. Weird man. Weird.

Mysterious disappearance of well-known psychic stuns family, friends

http://www.ktnv.com/Global/story.asp?S=12611124

A 57 year old prominent psychic woman disappears mysteriously. Car still in the garage, purse still in the house, no signs of forced entry.

Go ahead, someone make a, "Why didn't she see THIS one coming eh?" joke.

Mysterious mountains found hidden beneath Antarctic ice

http://www.csmonitor.com/Science/2010/0610/Mysterious-mountains-found-hidden-beneath-Antarctic-ice

So this is either The Savage Land or Atlantis or...?

Beneath a mile of ice, lay 8,000 foot mountains, complete with lakes, that aren't frozen, which, I don't really understand how that works at all. But, holy shit. For some reason this story freaks me out more than any other story I've reported on so far. It just gives me the heebie jeebies.

Follow Up: Mystery Solved!

Regarding that Clam Boat and the mystery containers:

Officials: Mysterious ocean catch was mustard gas

Let's hear it for our country:

"The Defense Department began using the ocean as a dumping ground for chemical and conventional munitions after World War II. The military says it stopped in 1970, and two years later Congress banned waste disposal in oceans, including chemical weapons.

Officials say it's impossible to know exactly how much and what type of weapons have been dumped in the ocean because of incomplete records. A 2001 Army report found 74 past instances of ocean disposal — 32 off U.S. shores and 42 off foreign coasts.

For example, in 1967 the Army dumped 4,577 one-ton containers of a mustard agent and 7,380 sarin rockets off the New Jersey shore, according to Army records.

Only some of the ocean dumps were mapped, and chemical munitions have been found in areas they weren't supposed to have been dumped, such as off Hawaii, said Craig Williams of the Chemical Weapons Working Group, a Kentucky-based organization."

So that's reassuring.

Paul Michael Combs commits suicide, deepening mystery

http://www.democratandchronicle.com/article/20100609/NEWS01/6090347/1002/NEWS/Paul-Michael-Combs-commits-suicide--deepening-mystery

Man. This is a head scratching noodle of a doodle.
Alright. Check this.

In 2005, Rex Judd, who, besides having a fucking awesome name for a shady Florida millionaire, disappears after travelling to Thailand. For some reason, mysterious, authorities are really, really interested in finding out what happened to Mr. Judd. Enter a bizarre group of characters straight out of Elmore Leonard baby, "including a controversial Russian judge, a Canadian venture capitalist, and the 13th Duke of Manchester, a descendant of British royalty who now lives in Los Angeles."

Anyway, this guy Paul Combs who just killed himself told authorities he had information regarding Judd's disappearance. People who knew him doubt he would've killed himself, but then again, don't they always.

Combs and Judd were members of a group of wealthy businessmen who travel to Thailand together. That sounds not at all sketchy. The Russian, The Canadian and the Duke were all members of the same group.

Judd became a millionaire peddling get rich quick schemes, so you know, no real loss there. This whole deal is bizarre and crazy and totally interesting.

Mystery gray whale sighted again off Spain coast

http://news.bbc.co.uk/earth/hi/earth_news/newsid_8729000/8729064.stm

Paging Captain Ahab, your obsession is calling.

First off gray whales were thought to be extinct, so this is like, the opposite of most of the other mysterious news animal posts, you know, about animals dying en mass.
It went extinct in the 17th or 18th century for reasons unknown and now has appeared, for reasons unknown.
It's heading south at a slow pace, they don't know where it's going, but hey, let's hear it for a little positivity.

Mysterious orange chemicals leave Connah’s Quay car firm in a mess

http://www.flintshirechronicle.co.uk/flintshire-news/local-flintshire-news/2010/06/10/mysterious-orange-chemicals-leave-connah-s-quay-car-firm-in-a-mess-51352-26628689/

This is a strange one, and again, more mysterious news from jolly england.

A car company has 40 of it's vehicles suddenly becoming coated in an orange residue. No one knows what it is. But apparently it costs like 1,200 quid to clean, which is like, a lot of quids, apparently.

Researchers note mysterious decline in world snake population

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/ondeadline/post/2010/06/research-note-myserious-decline-in-world-snake-population/1

Another one of "those" stories. More animals dying off mysteriously. Probably a good sign of good times ahead.

Populations are shrinking even in protected areas. At least we're losing mean bastards like the asp and a couple of types of vipers.

Clam boat pulls up 10 mysterious containers off New York, 1 breaks open and sickens crew

http://www.canadianbusiness.com/markets/market_news/article.jsp?content=D9G6PND80

A fishing boat pulls up ten mystery canisters, one breaks open, Godzilla is born.
Well except that last part, but damn it all that sounds like the beginning of a cold war era paranoid scifi b movie.

Two crew members start to blister and have trouble breathing.

The boat's catch may have already been sold! Hilarious!

It may be a mustard agent, like World War I mustard agent.

::INSERT CATCH OF THE DAY JOKE::

A mysterious case

http://www.dailytexanonline.com/1.2155254

This is one messed up mysterious case. Jeffrey Weng, 19, Texan student, one year ago, picked up outside of a gay bar with a "hispanic friend" who "were hugging very closely". They offer the cab driver $60 to drive them to San Marcos, the cab driver says they didn't appear to be drunk, 20 miles into the drive, the driver hears the door open and hears Weng say "Where are you taking me?"
The driver says he doesn't believe Weng was pushed out, he thinks he jumped out, he also didn't realize Weng was gone for another two exits on the highway.
A woman calls 911 after seeing Weng's body face down in the road.
Long story short, the driver freaks out, drops off the other passenger, doesn't get his name. It turns out from the blood alchol level that Weng was drunk, but still.
Curiouser and curiouser. We all do dumb things while drunk. Leaving a cab going 70mph on the highway? I can't imagine being so drunk that seemed like a good idea, though I have done monumentally stupid things while drunk, but stomping out a cigarette bare foot in the dead of winter outside is one thing, this is something else.
What could someone say to make you jump out of a moving car? Is the cab driver covering for someone? SOMETHING?

Mysterious phone call that let Warren Anderson flee

http://www.hindustantimes.com/india/Mysterious-phone-call-that-let-Warren-Anderson-flee/554180/H1-Article1-554550.aspx

This is an old bit of mysteriousnessness. In the 80s, in India, Union Carbide plant, accidentally (?) released a bit of poison that ended up killing a few thousand people. Warren Anderson, chairman of the company lands in India, and justly, is promptly arrested.

Not that justice was even really being done at the time, since he was being held under house arrest, at the Carbide guest house, which I imagine isn't terrible.

Anyway, then the chief minister receives a mysterious phone call. Anderson pays a bond, is released and promises to come back to stand trial.

It's what, 2010? Yeah he hasn't gone back yet. Who made that mysterious phone call? What did they say? Mysterious baby.

Bat plague: The mystery disease that threatens to wipe species out and why we depend on their survival

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1280531/Bat-plague-The-mystery-disease-threatens-wipe-depend-survival.html

Here we go again. More mass, species specific deaths. This time, bats, something sweeping across North America, "starving bats to death and leaving behind mass graves of thin, putrefied and fungus ridden bodies".

About one million bats have died of it, it's been dubbed "WNS" or white nosed syndrome, after the white powdery fungus left on their noses and wings.

Mysterious theft reported to police

http://www.theleafchronicle.com/article/20100519/CRIME/5190301

This article might be proof that an EMP gun exists and is being used for petty crime.

A woman driving, her car suddenly stops and won't start. She reaches over to her purse to get her phone, hears a loud noise, something hits her in the face.

She wakes up 13 hours later sans purse.

13 hours. Hm. Maybe that's a clue. Also, what?

Eyewitness describes mysterious ‘sea drama’

http://www.dispatch.co.za/article.aspx?id=401527

This sounds like transdimensional bleeding if I ever heard it.

A man sees a ship off the shore shoot off a distress flare, he gets his telescope, estimates it's about 12 nautical miles out, he sees people on the boat wearing life jackets, waving, orange objects in the water, too far off to know if it was people.

A search for the vessel yields nothing. Hm.

Mysterious Haze Leads to Hazardous Situation

http://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/local-beat/Mysterious-Haze-Leads-to-Hazardous-Situation-92994479.html

Sounds like the beginning of an episode of "Fringe". A FedEx driver saw a "mysterious haze" coming from the back of his truck.

Whatever that means. It's unclear what caused this "mysterious haze". Is the government dosing the FedEx drivers of the country? OR ARE THEY DOSING ALL OF US?!?!

Thousand of Antelopes Killed Due to Mystery Disease

http://topnews.co.uk/25692-thousand-antelopes-killed-due-mystery-disease

The more mysterious deaths of groups of specific animals I read about, the more worried, or maybe I should say, paranoid I become.

This one. Thousands of rare Saiga antelopes have been found dead in Kazakhstan. A majority of the dead were females with calves, whatever that means.

It's a "gravely" endangered species and 40% of the world's population just died mysteriously. That's a good sign.

Mysterious plaque at Green Lake Park: ODO '71 "Rock on…"

http://blog.seattlepi.com/ingreenlake/archives/205240.asp

Part of me is afraid this mystery is easily solved by asking the right bored, rich, white people. It could be something as stupid as some kind of dumb inside joke from a bunch of rich kids a bunch of summers ago.

On the other hand, it could be way cooler.

A plaque on a rock reading, "ODO '71 "Rock On...""

Mysterious orange lights baffle Christchurch residents

http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/8182740.Mysterious_orange_lights_baffle_Christchurch_residents/

So either mysterious things are happening in England all the time or they just really like to use the word "Mysterious". Anyway.

More lights in the sky. Four spherical orange balls. One after another with the same flight path.

This quote pretty much says it all:

"The first intrigued us, the second confused us, the third bewildered us and the fourth freaked me out. "

Mysterious disease kills camels

http://www.thepeninsulaqatar.com/qatar/3762-mysterious-disease-kills-camels.html

It's killing camels in large numbers, quickly, in hours, showing no symptoms. It's even killing prize camels, bred for racing.

True story.

Mystery As Century-Old Swiss Watch Discovered In Ancient Tomb Sealed For 400 Years

http://beforeitsnews.com/news/40/853/Mystery_as_century-old_Swiss_watch_discovered_in_ancient_tomb_sealed_for_400_years.html

I kind of feel like the name of this article should be "DEAD TIME TRAVELER FOUND".

Basically they opened a tomb that has been sealed for 400 years in China and found a 100 year old watch. Yeah. That happened.

Oh and it had stopped at 10:06am. Whatever the hell you can make of that. Oh yeah the watch was marked "Swiss" even though "Swiss" wasn't a country yet. And there weren't watches during the Ming Dynasty.

So, we're all in agreement then? Time traveler?

Mysterious lights

http://www.fenlandcitizen.co.uk/news/Mysterious-lights.6317731.jp

A woman in England saw more mysterious lights (apparently, they've been seeing quite a lot of them?). Three lights in succession, one red and two orange that came out from behind a tree, "zipped across the sky" and all disappeared in the same place.

They moved too quickly to be paper lanterns they said.

Mysterious graffiti is the cat’s whiskers

http://www.expressandstar.com/pictures/2010/05/06/mysterious-graffiti-is-the-cats-whiskers/

Ok. After poisoned cat stories and so many dead children, let's have a fun mysterious story.

Someone has been spray painting the silhouettes of black cats around this English town and nobody knows whose doing it.

Isn't that a nice story? Let's go have a cup of coffee, maybe take a walk around the block, clear our heads, meet back here in a little bit. Woo. Man. So many dead children stories involve the word "mysterious". That's, I don't know what that is, but it is that, most definitely.

Girls contract mysterious disease

http://www.myrepublica.com/portal/index.php?action=news_details&news_id=18499

I've learned quickly that most "mysterious illness" stories are usually in impoverished areas, which means "mysterious in so far as everyone is sick and poor and ill equipt to handle serious illness outbreaks of any kind"

When I first saw this headline I was afraid this was another one of those stories. It is not. It is way more f'ed up.

Eleven girls from 10-16 are, and lets actually quote this so you can get the full horror of it all,

"have a wilted look, are given to weeping, and grab their own throats and roll over."

Good god almighty. What? Demon possession? Some kind of contagious existential terror? Stay away from that corner of Nepal for the time being. Especially if you are a girl from 10-16.

More 'alien' footage surfaces as Chalfonts' UFO mystery deepens

http://www.buckinghamshireadvertiser.co.uk/south-buckinghamshire-news/local-buckinghamshire-advertiser-news/2010/05/13/more-alien-footage-surfaces-as-chalfonts-ufo-mystery-deepens-82398-26438980/

I urge you to go to this page and check out the video footage they have, that a man took of an alien in his shed.

The story is there was a video of a craft hovering over a pub (natch) that was then chased off by jets.

The video, I don't know man, it's intense. It could obviously be a fake or obviously real. I can't imagine anyone being able to keep it together and film the thing that close up. I don't know. Take a look for yourself.

Also, I don't want this blog to turn into just another alien sighting site, but damn, I am shocked by how many stories there are, on like actual news sites, not just blogs or whatever. Very interesting. Very, mysterious.

Mysterious man offers to buy land on Egypt-Gaza border

http://www.almasryalyoum.com/en/news/mysterious-man-offers-buy-land-egypt-gaza-border

Holy fucking shit. This story is fucking out of control. And also sounds like on of those stories that you should definitely not investigate further, because whoever is behind this, has a lot of money and like the Cylons, has a plan.

A man calling himself "General Gabri" has approached Sinai tribes about buying some land from them, land between the border of Egypt and the Gaza Strip. 14km area worth around "tens of millions of pounds". General Gabri told them to set their own price, even if it was for more than the land was worth. He said he wanted to convert the area into a, wait for it, wait for it, wait for it, "free trade zone". That doesn't sound suspicious at all.

Oh and he told the tribal leaders he'd make them partners in the deal. Let's see where this is going. Actually. Lets not.

PET OWNERS WARNED AFTER MYSTERIOUS DEATH OF CATS

http://www.nwemail.co.uk/news/pet-owners-warned-after-mysterious-death-of-cats-1.705864?referrerPath=news/

Around 10 cats dead of poisoning, apparently anti freeze.

Last year apparently 7 or 8 cats died in the same way.

Goddamn you England. First you tax our tea. Then this.

Get your act together and catch what is clearly either teenagers or OCCULTISTS!

OCCULTIST TEENAGERS!

107 babies die from mysterious fever in Nyala, South Darfur

http://www.reliefweb.int/rw/rwb.nsf/db900SID/SMAR-85R8TU?OpenDocument

March to May 988 babies have been infected with something that can kill them in up to 48 hours after being born.

This is in a community where two to three newborns have to share a bed.

But hey, contraceptives are bad right? So is abortion. Lets hear it for pro life! Life completely unchecked and out of control! So much life it kills and makes the hospital stink with the corpses of the dead young.

Hooray for the first world eh? Anyway. This is fucked. There are some demons that feed on babies exclusively. Also, there are some governments that need to test things. That's all we're saying on that subject. Mysterious.

Strange creature pulled from northern Ontario creek disappears

http://travel.canoe.ca/Travel/News/2010/05/21/14035496.html

This story has everything I love about the world in it: Canada. Reappearing/Disappearing Mysterious Creatures. Local Lore. Omens. Good stuff.

First off, I am glad as hell I don't have a dog, it seems people are always discovering fucked up shit while walking their dogs, bodies, mysterious creatures, used condoms, disgusting.

So somebody walking their dog discover a foot long creature "with a bald face and paws, glazed eyes, warthog like mouth and a rat's tail".

You have your usual university type skeptics sayings its just a this or just a that, but the more interesting people of the area have differing theories.

"According to the residents of the community, this isn't the first sighting of such a creature. In fact, the people in the area call the legendary creature "omagimaakos" - or "the ugly one." Sainnawap says his great-uncle came across a similar animal in the 1950s"

The body disappeared and then locals went out looking for it or another like it. They didn't find anything which is good because Sainnawap goes on to say that the "Omagimaakos" is an omen of bad things about to happen. Goddamn. It turns out culture can be fucking interesting. At least other peoples culture. American Culture is like, "We call these 'McGriddles' and they are an omen of immanent heart disease and slow thought patterns".

Russia jails 'pirate' over Arctic Sea ship mystery

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8668305.stm

ok. This is a tricky wicket. Or is that a sticky wicket? The mystery DEEPENS.

So last summer a ship called "The Arctic Sea" which is a fucking stupid name for a ship because it makes every goddamn thing you read about it that much more confusing, is a Russian timber ship that leaves Finland with a crew of 15, and then disappears.

Then reappears off the coast of West Africa, Moscow announces they've captured the hijackers and rescued the crew. In the interim rumors fly about a possible weapons delivery for Iran, Russian denies that there are missiles on the boat.

A bunch of men are charged, plead guilty as part of a plea deal, then someone starts to talk, changing the official story, saying something closer to the idea that there were no hijackers, in fact, they had been rescued by the ship. Someone uses the phrase "set up". What?

And then to complete the bizarre story:

Also last September, a senior figure close to Israeli intelligence told the BBC that Israel had been linked to the interception of the Arctic Sea.

The source said Israel had told Moscow it knew the ship was secretly carrying a Russian air defence system for Iran. There has been no official confirmation of the report.

Girl found dead at home

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/allahabad/Girl-found-dead-at-home/articleshow/6000093.cms

A 14 year old girl killed herself by self immolation. That's not when you jerk off with a belt around your neck and a lemon in your mouth by the way, if'n you were confused. That's when you set yourself on fire.

Apparently she had gotten into a fight with her family. Can you imagine if this happened in the U.S.? This would make the Phoebe Prince business look like, I don't know, something a lot smaller, like, remember Amy Fisher? No wait, that doesn't really work. But you get me.

Especially in light of all the anti bully legislation in the wake of the Prince case, can you imagine what would happen if it had been a girl who killed herself after fighting with her family? "Congress Passes Anti Family Fighting Bill". From here on out, parents must chill out and totally give their kids some space man, it's the law.

Mystery Crop Damage Threatens Hundreds Of Acres

http://www.wreg.com/news/wreg-mystery-crop-damage,0,187535.story

Back to Tennessee for more mysterious business. Tiny white dots are appearing on the plants and killing them. It doesn't matter if it's the organic hippy love farm or the tough as nails, old school, spray it with poison and sell it to the people farm, both are affected by the mysterious plague. And even sadder still, it's killed two baby birds. And dead birds baby? Bad omen in anybodys book.

"Farmers we spoke with are convinced something in the air caused this damage."

Down home paranoia. Can not beat it. Paging Phil Collins.

Mysterious Plane Invades Santa Clarita Air Space

http://hometownstation.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=20200:plane-fly-mysterious-2010-05-06-15-25&catid=26:local-news&Itemid=97

Mysterious jet sounds from the sky. Either we're not alone alien wise or we're not alone government wise. Although probably the best thing to take from this story is this quote:

One possible answer to the mystery of the evening’s fly-by could be that the plane or planes were privately-owned fighter jets, which, according to a pilot who asked to remain anonymous, are very common.

So, privately owned fighter jets. That's, that's great.

Mysterious object spotted above Wat. Region

A huge fireball in the sky, spotted by residents, unknown to area astronomers, always a good sign.

Drug suspect can't explain mysterious pot plant

http://www2.tbo.com/content/2010/may/18/drug-suspect-cant-explain-mysterious-pot-plant/news-breaking/

A pot plant grew to about 19 inch (5.3 grams) right outside of this dudes door. Narcotics officers walked up, asked him about it, he said he didn't know how it had grown there, except maybe he threw the seeds out the door once and they just planted and grew. Of course, being dicks, they arrested him. Bummer. At the same time though, what if? Isn't it hard to grow pot? And insanely stupid to have it grow right outside your front door? Doesn't make sense. Poor dude.

Newfoundland’s mysterious shrimp thief: ‘He goes right past the lobster’

http://news.nationalpost.com/2010/05/27/newfoundlands-mysterious-shrimp-thief-he-goes-right-past-the-lobster/

So a dude has broken into this sea food shop, four times and stolen nothing but shrimp. That's it. How about that. So, the guy really likes shrimp? Or maybe it's a shrimp eating demon. One things for sure, it's totally hilarious.

Ohio police warn of mysterious pair of peacocks

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5hhk5AxCuZqYhBK8VQud7DTzbhfrwD9FHHGEO0

You have to love Ohio. Where else would a pair of peacocks be described as "mysterious"?

More than a dozen people have called 911 after spotting the pair.

The police urge people to just hit them if they come upon them in the road.

Mysterious animal spotted in Brown County

http://newsdemocrat.com/main.asp?SectionID=1&SubSectionID=1&ArticleID=130931

I love mysterious animal stories. They are always so mysterious. This ones from Ohio. A yellow tan thing with a tail as long as its body. A woman who saw it thought it was a Sabretooth Tiger.

Mysterious Odor Sickens Community, Baffles Officials

Any fans of Supernatural out there? Because this community in Louisville suddenly stunk like sulphur and then just as mysteriously stopped.

Paging Sam and Dean.

Mysterious shuttle may be new US war weapon

http://tvnz.co.nz/world-news/mysterious-shuttle-may-new-us-war-weapon-3568364

A "mysterious" mini shuttle was launched from Cape Canaveral in late April. It circled the planet every 90 minutes on a course that took it just south of New York City and directly over Iraq and Afghanistan.

"To the untrained eye, the mini shuttle looks similar to Atlantis and Discovery, but this craft called X-37B, unlike its predecessors, is said to have a militaristic and secretive purpose."

A robotic shuttle. Unmanned. That should put the paranoids at ease. The U.S. is insisting that it's not an aggressive vehicle, but there not saying anything more or less.

Hooooooooooooray.

Mysterious Images Spotted In Colbert County EMA Office

http://www.whnt.com/news/whnt-mysterious-images-spotted,0,7126536.story

What's creepier than Alabama? How about a whole bunch of things, because Alabama is great, and if you don't want Hippy Tom to drop his giant balls on your face and start screaming, you'll do wise to remember that.

Anyway in something called an "EMA" Office, they noticed that there were some peculiar shapes and white dots in a photo taking during the offices renovations. It appeared to be a saloon scene, once a local historian started messing around with the clarity features on his computer box, then he finds that the building used to be a saloon and a bowling alley (TRULY TERRIFYING) back in the 18somethings.
They've taken some new photos in the office and the spirits are still showing, this dude as if out of Fringe said something along the lines of "other dimensions" and only being able to see it through the camera flash. I'm extremely gullible and the total opposite of a skeptic, so I wholeheartedly believe this. Take a look at the pics and see for yourself.

Subway Hero Mystery

http://www.newsoxy.com/world/13233.html

Maybe I read too many comics, or, not nearly enough comics, either way, this gets the fanboy inside me quivering with delight. "Quivering With Delight: My Life With Rush Limbaugh". I don't know. Anyway.

A brooklyn photographer, fell onto the subway tracks, fainted after cutting her foot and some dude just jumped down and picked her up and saved her from the oncoming train, like, friggan, Daredevil or Spiderman or Neo or some shit. How about that. Superheroes are real in New York.

Two Mysterious Shootings

http://www.newschannel9.com/news/victim-991686-tire-chattanooga.html

S'crazy man. Here's the deal. This is Tennessee, so, it's bound to be head scratching no matter what it is.
A 29 year old kid is shot and robbed, then later changes his story and says he wasn't robbed. Alright, no big mystery there. Here's where it gets interesting, strange and MYSTERIOUS.
The second shooting of the night involves a 26 year old fills up at a gas station, gets the feeling he's being followed, tries to elude the following car, gets a flat, pulls over, gets out to check the tire, hears someone calling his name, turns around, there's a car coming at him with it's high beams on, then, shots are fired, the victim claims 4 or 5 shots were fired, he's hit once in the arm and manages to drive himself to the hospital.
When the cops went to the area where the shooting supposedly took place they found no evidence of shooting and the neighbors heard no gun shots.

What's the deal? Is the kid just lying about where the shooting took place? Did he forget? Or is it some phantom gunman? OooOOoOOoOOoooooo.

"Dinner's on E. Side mystery couple"

http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/manhattan/dinner_on_side_mystery_couple_rA9e6ybhDSf1ARR19sEYOK

A shadowy duo is paying the checks of complete strangers at a New York eatery. I love saying "New York Eatery", it sounds so, new york-y. I feel like there should be a law against this. Guilty rich folks who pick up the tabs of complete strangers are worse than people who skip out on their bill completely. I'm sure they think they're doing the world a favor, but really they're just spoiling already spoiled people. I mean really. It's not like they're hanging out at a soup kitchen hitting people with free hams. They're eating at a fancy restaurant, er, what I imagine to be a fancy restaurant, I mean, every restaurant in New York is fancy right? But yeah, whatever. Mysteries abound. This is like the who is Banksy mystery, but more food oriented.
